Abstract: This research was conducted in order to analyze whether the internal control inventory cycle has an impact on the profitability of the company "Hardware Store El Rey" and the three outlets with which currently has the business. For this research (observation sheets and financial analysis) was performed on each of the branches that are located one in the province of Cotopaxi and two in Tungurahua; It has concluded that despite the path having on the market, has many problems in the control and management of inventories due to a lack of tools to help better manage the materials they sell; and for this reason there have been several drawbacks such as deterioration of merchandise, product loss, shortage of materials, insufficient amounts, etc. All this in turn has led to the participation of the company in the market is reduced, that is to say, sales have decreased significantly and thus the profitability of the hardware store is not waiting for their owners. The issues presented by the company the execution and implementation of activities or mechanism focused on inventory management that enable to the members of the company learning and making a more efficient handling of them and thus make the rotation of the merchandise is adequate to avoid unnecessary expenses or costs that may impair the profitability of the company.
Description: La presente investigación se realizó con la finalidad de analizar si el control interno del ciclo de los inventarios tiene algún impacto en la rentabilidad de la empresa “Ferretería El Rey” y en los tres puntos de venta con los que cuenta actualmente el negocio. Para esto se realizó una investigación (fichas de observación y análisis financieros)en cada una de las sucursales que están situadas una en la provincia de Cotopaxi y dos en Tungurahua; se llegó a la conclusión que pese a la trayectoria que tiene en el mercado, presenta múltiples problemas en el control y manejo de los inventarios debido al desconocimiento de herramientas que ayuden a gestionar de mejor manera los bienes que comercializan; y por esta razón se han presentado varios inconvenientes tales como: deterioro de mercadería, perdida de productos, escases de materiales, cantidades insuficientes, entre otros; todo eso a su vez ha ocasionado que se reduzca la participación de la empresa en el mercado, es decir, las ventas han disminuido considerablemente y por ende la rentabilidad de la ferretería no es la que esperan sus propietarios. La problemática que presenta la compañía hizo necesaria e indispensable la ejecución e implementación de actividades o mecanismo enfocados en la gestión de existencias que permita a los miembros de la empresa aprender y realizar un manejo más eficiente de las mismas y de esta forma lograr que la rotación de la mercadería sea la adecuada para evitar gastos o costos innecesarios que perjudiquen la rentabilidad de la empresa.
