Abstract: The aim of this research is to identify the possible relationship between family functioning and motor development of children attending the Children's Center of Good Living Cuyayacu in the city of Tena. Family functioning is the proper management of the relationship between each of the members thereof, to measure this variable the FFSIL test consisting of 14 items in which situations that can occur within a family by detailing was used which it can be identified if the family is functional, Moderately functional or Dysfunctional Dysfunctional Severely. On the other hand, motor development refers to everything that is related to the movement, for measuring this variable subscales fine motor and gross motor skills test Denver II were applied since this test is used to identify problems in the development of children, ie to assess whether the child has a developmental delay according to chronological age in which it is located. For data analysis SPSS statistical software was used through the X2 test and Fisher's exact test, finding that there is no relationship between the two variables.
Description: El objetivo de la presente investigación es identificar la posible relación entre la funcionalidad familiar y el desarrollo motriz de los niños que asisten al Centro Infantil del Buen Vivir Cuyayacu en la ciudad del Tena. La funcionalidad familiar es el adecuado manejo de las relaciones entre cada uno de los miembros de la misma, para medir ésta variable se utilizó el test FFSIL que consta de 14 ítems en los que se detallan situaciones que pueden ocurrir dentro de una familia por medio de los cuales se puede identificar si la familia es funcional, Moderadamente Funcional, Disfuncional o Severamente Disfuncional. Por otro lado, el desarrollo motriz se refiere a todo lo que se relaciona con el movimiento, para la medición de ésta variable se aplicaron las subescalas de motricidad fina y motricidad gruesa del test de Denver II ya que ésta prueba es utilizada para identificar problemas en el desarrollo de los niños, es decir permite evaluar si el niño tiene un retraso en el desarrollo acorde a la edad cronológica en la que se encuentra. Para el análisis de datos se utilizó el programa estadístico SPSS a través de la Prueba X2 y el test exacto de Fisher, encontrándose que no existe relación entre las dos variables estudiadas.
