“Perfil de ingreso del estudiante de la carrera de enfermería y su relación con la vocación a la profesión y desempeño académico”

Abstract

Vocation is defined as something innate developed with the coexistence and knowledge created from multiple experiences and values that generate meaning and direction to the life of an individual. The objective of this research study was to determine the vocation when entering the nursing career; analyze repercussions on academic performance and socialize the results obtained to guide possible academic achievements and failures of students.

It is a prospective, longitudinal, quantitative type of investigation, it allows to describe and analyze the presented variables with a sample of 104 students of the first semester of the Career of Nursing of the UTA; the information collected was carried out through two instruments: 1. CHASIDE test 2.- Vocational check test.

The results obtained from the surveys reveal that there is a high level of vocation in nursing, 67.3% of students are interested in health areas, 66.3% have aptitudes to exercise health professions, 63.5% feel motivated to reach their goal and culminate their studies 79.8% have the ability to communicate with the active listening technique, and 69.2% feel vocation to provide health care
