Abstract: El presente proyecto de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las consecuencias del riesgo país sobre la inversión extranjera directa en el Ecuador durante 2004-2017, para identificar las consecuencias que produce el riesgo, teniendo en cuentas los aspectos económicos-financieros y políticos. Empleando así datos de las variables a estudiarse, teniendo en cuenta que los datos se encuentran en períodos trimestrales por lo que se aplicará en el método de series temporales, pues se utilizará para la comprobación: Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO), Vectores Autorregresivos (VAR), el de cointegración de Johansen, el test de causalidad de Granger y el Modelo de Error de VECM. En el estudio se concluye que el riesgo país es un indicador el cual los inversionistas toman en cuenta al momento de invertir en el Ecuador, así como también la inversión ayuda al desarrollo de distintos sectores como son el comercio, la manufactura, entre los más importantes, de esta manera ayuda al crecimiento económico del país.
Description: The objective of this research project is to analyze the consequences of Country Risk on Foreign Direct Investment in Ecuador during 2004-2017, to identify the consequences that risk produces, taking into account the economic-financial and political aspects. Using data of the variables to be studied, taking into account that the data are in quarterly periods so it will be applied in the time series method, since it will be used for the verification: Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Autoregressive Vectors (VAR) ), the Johansen cointegration, the Granger causality test and the VECM Error Model. The study concludes that Country Risk is an indicator, which investors take into account when investing in Ecuador, as well as investment helps the development of different sectors such as trade, manufacturing, among the most important, in this way, helps the economic growth of the country.
