(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-03-01) Alomoto Alomoto, Jessica Paulina; Mena Freire, Marco Antonio Ps. Cl. Mg.
Work stress is a set of reactions to the demands of the occupational environment and impulsivity is understood as a rapid response to external or internal stimuli, which can negatively affect the physical and mental health of health personnel. Therefore, the present study has as a general objective to determine the relationship between work stress and impulsivity in the health personnel of a hospital in Ecuador. The research had a quantitative approach, nonexperimental design, correlational level, cross section, in a sample of 100 health professionals aged between 26 and 49 years. The selection of the participants was through a non-probability sampling for convenience. The OIT-WHO Occupational Stress Scale and the Barrat Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11) were used in the Spanish version. The people evaluated show normal stress and impulsivity and with a significant difference, women (116) present greater work stress compared to men (102).The correlation is positive.
