    El agroturismo y la demanda turística en el sector Valle Hermoso, cantón Pelileo

    The research carried out that corresponds to the topic: Agro-tourism and tourism demand in the Valle Hermoso sector, Pelileo canton; its objective was focused on determining the importance of agro-tourism and the interest of tourism demand in the Valle Hermoso sector. The analysis was based on various bibliographic sources to have a broad knowledge of the study variables. The methodology was based on a nonexperimental research of transversal type with mixed approach; instruments were applied to collect both qualitative and quantitative information applying the type of simple random sampling and non-probabilistic by judgment required in this research process. From the results of the surveys, it was possible to establish some requirements contemplated in the tourist profile such as demographic data and, the needs and expectations generated about the different opportunities of recreational activities in agritourism; likewise, for the actors linked to agritourism, the interviews allowed to know the key perceptions and opinions about the promotion of this new tourist activity. After analyzing the results obtained, it was concluded that the sector has considerable potential for the development of agrotourism, thanks to its agricultural wealth and the presence of key enterprises in the area. These potential characteristics were identified during the research. The importance of gathering information from tourists to adjust their needs and preferences to the tourism offer was also highlighted. Finally, it was determined that the implementation of an agrotourism route is a potential strategy to promote the development of agrotourism in the sector.
