    Materiales alternativos en la provincia de Pichincha y sus aplicaciones en el diseño de indumentaria

    Alternative materials arise as a conscious and innovative option in the textile and garment industry. Entrepreneurships are implemented focused on taking advantage of the available resources, implementing technology, and reusing raw materials. This study research confirmed that there are companies that offer alternative materials in Pichincha province, the aim of this study is to visualize and promote the use of those materials in the garment design. Quantitative method was employed to have a direct understanding of the research topic by the use of interviews applied to the people involved. Professional designers and textile engineers’ point of view was taken into consideration, the ones who provide a vision about the future of alternative materials in the local industry. The results are shown in a magazine that includes key aspects about these materials and finally some propositions are presented, which can be materialized making use of these resources.
