(2025-06-16) Cuenca Rueda, Juan Carlos; Herrera López, José Luis; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Enfermería
Experience is the set of knowledge that is acquired through experiences, in an objective reality from the point of view of each individual. The objective of this research is to describe the experiences of inadequate dietary management in diabetic patients. The research presents a qualitative approach, of a phenomenological type, with an exploratory design, a cross-sectional cohort, completely field-based with diabetic patients in the period May 2024-August 2024. An intentional non-probabilistic sampling is used, the instrument of which is the semi-structured interview that is It is applied individually with a duration of approximately 20 to 25 minutes. In addition, intentional sampling is used until the information is obtained. For data analysis, a graph was created to represent the responses of the participants according to the categories that are previously established by the authors, based on the deductive method and hermeneutic phenomenology. The experiences are explained and categorized into personal, family, social, work and religious areas, which reveal the reason why diabetic patients do not comply with their diet adequately, thus having an impact on their health.
