    Sustainable tourism follows the principles of sustainability. It is an economic activity committed to conservation of the environment, to rescue of cultural identity and to generation of employment for host community. This represents an economic development engine with multiple benefits. For this reason, the present project is denominated: "SUSTAINABLE TOURISM AS A FACTOR OF MITIGATION OF THE UNSATISFIED BASIC NEEDS OF INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF PASA, CANTÓN AMBATO". Its purpose is to contribute to improvement of the life quality of inhabitants of the tourist destination with satisfaction of basic needs such as: subsistence capacity, school attendance, housing, wastewater disposal system, overcrowding, belonging to the NBI index. This project proposes local development alternatives for this parish, located in the western sector of the province of Tungurahua, 17 km from Ambato. It should be noted that Pasa offers visitors recreation services in different resorts and hosting sites. As well as extraordinary natural resources such as: historical, cultural, folklore and sporting activities.
