MSc.
Sensory deficits, whether visual, vestibular or proprioceptive, in elderly people can affect the quality of life and the degree of dependence. The main objective of this study was to determine the sensory dependence of motor control and quality of life in older adults of the Sumak Kawsay Wasi Institute of Priority Social Attention of the Provincial Government of Napo. Twenty-three older adults aged 65 years with an average of 75.9 ± 7.2 years from the Sumak Kawsay Wasi Priority Care Institute of the city of Tena participated, where 16 (70%) were women and 7 (30%) were men. Sensory dependence was evaluated with the Romberg test, Timed Up and Go and the Functional Reach test. The WHOQOL-OLD (World Health organization Quality of life-Old) questionnaire was used to assess quality of life. Participants signed the informed consent form and SPSS was used for data analysis. The mean quality of life was 73.04±10.51, 56.5% (13 patients) have high quality of life, while 43.5% (10 older adults) have medium quality of life. We conclude that the visual deficit was more compromised than the vestibular and proprioceptive areas. However, the variables were significantly influential in the quality of life of the older adult.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2021-02-01) Lupera Reto, María Belén; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. MSc.
Football referees inside the field must make different types of displacements between which we have a head-on race, backstrokes, side movements, changes in pace and, in addition, the reaction is very important to stay attentive to the different situations that arise in a match. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the functional movement in the referees of training categories of the Association of Professional Football Referees of Tungurahua. It is a quantitative investigation as it is focused on estimating through the help of the Functional Movement Screen and its valuation scale in order to evaluate the functional movement in the referees. In addition, a correlation was made between FMS results and training loads, as well as functional tests applied to detect problems in the biomechanics of referees. These results showed a significant relationship showing, in conclusion, that referees are at high risk of injury and that they must improve their loads, type and intensity of training, as well as correct certain abnormal patterns of movement, asymmetry and deviations so that future injuries can be prevented and have a better quality of life and performance within the pitch.

MSc.
This research work was carried out to evaluate the ergonomics during online work in the faculty of health science in ambato. A documentary study took part through a qualitative approach and a transversal focus in which the teaching and administrative staff participated online. Furthermore, scientific papers allowed to investigate and support the research. 14 professors who met the criteria of inclusion participated. However, other professors did not participate due to lack of interest and tight work schedules. As soon as the population was identified, 4 instruments were revised to be applied in the research. Such instruments were the work load questionnaire, work interest test, work stress test by oit-oms, rose method and the standardized nordic questionnaire which were applied online through google forms. Results were transcribed into spss, a software for statistical analysis. Results demonstrated inmediate impact in the work place indicating a visible performmace of 42,9% equally and an urgent performance of 14,3%. The correlation indicator shows a significance of (p=0,00) with regard to muscular and skeletal pain, work load and work stress.

“Programa de ejercicios terapéuticos acompañados de musicoterapia para mejorar la calidad de la marcha en adultos mayores en el Cantón Cevallos”
(Universidad Tecnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Carrera de Terapia Fisica, 2020-02-01) Jiménez Zúñiga, Carlos Manuel; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. MSc.
In older adults the aging process modifies the center of gravity, reflexes, balance, flexibility. These conditions decrease the quality of gait and determine a potential risk of falls in the elderly. This research aims to improve the quality of walking in older adults through a program of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy. This research is of quantitative study, 30 participants attended during 12 weeks of intervention. The evaluation was performed with physiotherapeutic tests Mini Best Test and UP & GO, both were applied at the beginning of the sessions. The last evaluation was made after the last session of the exercise program. An intervention program with exercises in both sitting and standing was designed according to the physical-functional capacity of the population with daily sessions of 45 minutes 3 to 4 times per week. After the application of the protocol of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy and when making the final evaluations it is concluded that positive results were obtained in the quality of walking in aspects such as coordination, speed and breadth of passage in relation to the initial evaluation
