Learning English has become essential to improve the quality of life of many people, as speaking English as a second language can increase average salary by 30%. However, the high cost of traditional learning methodologies leads many students to seek online resources that can be inefficient and quickly lose the student's initial motivation. In this research, the use of gamification in a mobile application focused on English language learning was explored with the goal of increasing user motivation and engagement. To do this, a literature review was conducted, and a survey was applied to students from online English learning communities as a means of collecting information. For the system's implementation, the cross-platform development framework Flutter was used to build the mobile application, allowing for greater efficiency in development and optimized performance. Additionally, Firebase was used as a platform for database management and real-time information storage, offering benefits such as increased scalability, flexibility, and security in the application. Publishing the application in app stores allowed for reaching a wider audience and the results obtained regarding user retention and activation, as well as positive ratings, indicate that the application was well-received by users. This reflects the importance of immersion in the English language as a key factor for effective learning and the usefulness of gamification as a tool for maintaining student motivation.
