(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-03-01) González Catota, Carla Mariela; Gaibor González, Ismael Álvaro Psi. Cl. Mg.
The objective of this research was to relate personality dimensions with psychological well-being in caregivers of people with disabilities. This research is descriptive and correlational, we worked with a population sample of 90 caregivers of people with disabilities who belong to the home visit program of the "Fundación Construyamos un Sueño". Psychological tests such as the Eysenck EPQ-R Personality Questionnaire and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale were applied. The data analysis was carried out with the statistical program (SPSS) through the Spearman's Rho statistical correlation test, which determined that there is a relationship between the Personality Dimensions and Psychological Well-being. The dimension of extraversion is related to the dimensions of self-acceptance, purpose of life and total well-being, the dimension of neuroticism is related to the dimensions of mastery of the environment and positive relationships, the dimension of psychoticism had no correlation with the dimensions of Psychological Well-being and the sincerity scale was related to the domain of the environment and total wellbeing dimensions. In addition, it was determined that the most prevalent dimension in caregivers was psychoticism, followed by the dimension of neuroticism and extraversion, the sincerity scale obtained a very high rank regarding the truthfulness of the answers. Regarding psychological well-being, a high range was obtained with 77% of caregivers. There were no statistically significant differences in the scores of both tests according to gender, except in psychoticism
