El bienestar biopsicosocial de las familias monoparentales
(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2023-03) Intriago Aguirre, Joselyn Paulina; Balseca Basantes, Jeanneth Elizabeth
Women in single-parent families, due to the burden of sole responsibility they have for their children, the household and themselves, are at greater risk of a decrease in their biopsychosocial well-being and of complicating their daily lives. The present study aims to analyses these three factors that influence the well-being of women heads of household of the "Ana de Peralta Collective" in the city of Ambato, working with 40 single-parent women. The research has a qualitative approach, with an instrument of 23 questions, distributed in 3 dimensions (biological, psychological and social), with 18 indicators (health, feelings, emotions, work, housing and environment, violence, support networks, parenting, home organization, gender, social acceptance, economy and lifestyle), It was validated by expert judgement and for its analysis a semantic network was carried out to systematize their experiences in a matrix, which showed that the biopsychosocial wellbeing of the women deteriorated as a result of entering single parenthood, with the main impact on psychological and social wellbeing. In addition, a proposal was made for individual and group intervention, to reinforce their self-esteem and physical and mental self-care, while each of them will work with four sessions that include the coordination of schedules, strengthening of support networks, search for new support networks and distribution of financial resources.
