In this project, an evaluation is carried out on the proper functioning and quality of the drinking water service obtained from the Water Treatment Plant (PTAP), which is intended for the consumption of the inhabitants and other users of the hamlet of Andignato. In this research, respective evaluations were carried out on the current condition of the Drinking Water Treatment Plant (PTAP), which is managed by the Water and Sanitation Administrative Board of Andignato. The field reconnaissance began, including the examination of structural elements such as the water source, sand removal tank, and storage tank. A design was developed for a 30-year period, obtaining real and necessary values for a new storage tank, along with the corresponding analysis of unit prices. Additionally, a physical-chemical and bacteriological analysis of the water treated with calcium hypochlorite was conducted, determining that the water is adequately disinfected but needs improvement. It was also identified that both the structural and conveyance elements currently require renovation. Furthermore, a structural design proposal for a larger capacity storage tank than the current one was suggested. Upon completion of this research project, it will be made available to the Water and Sanitation Administrative Board of Andignato for their use and benefit, as it will be a contribution from the Technical University of Ambato.
