The present project focused on the analysis of the effect of the hybrid lubrication method and a Minimum Quantity Lubricant (MQL) system together with Titanium Dioxide and Alumina nanoparticles on the milling process of AISI 1018 and AISI 304 steels, cutting tool flank wear and surface finish, which will be carried out on a CNC milling machine. In this analysis hard metal inserts with PVD TiAlN coating were used, cutting speed is the variable parameter, the recommended and maximum values by the manufacturer were used to establish the experimental combinations, for the hybrid lubrication methods two types of nanoparticles were used, Titanium Dioxide and Alumina for AISI 1018 and AISI 304 steels respectively at a concentration of 0. 5 percent by weight; using a combination of liquid and gaseous CO2 together with the system of minimum amount of lubricant directed to the contact zone of the work material and cutting tool to minimize the friction and temperatures generated in the cutting process. For the evaluation of flank wear and roughness, standard instruments such as the scanning electron microscope, based on the ISO 8688-1 standard specialized in this type of evaluations, and a roughness meter for the measurement of surface quality Ra and Rz were used. After analysis of the results, the surface finish of the steels was improved and the service life of the cutting tools was increased.
