Item Conocimiento de las madres sobre la vacuna BCG para la prevención de tuberculosis(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Medina Guallpa, Karen Vanessa; Salguero Fiallos, Carmen MarleneBCG is a biological that is administered within the immunization system of Ecuador, its importance is based on the prevention of severe forms of tuberculosis, knowing about this vaccine will help to increase the number of immunized children and therefore the higher the uptake of BCG, the lower the morbidity rate with this disease, therefore, the objective of the research was to determine the intellect regarding BCG, its generalities, application and importance. The research has a quantitative approach, a descriptive scope and a cross-sectional design, in which a structured survey with a reliability of 0.81% was applied to 60 people, whose choice was intentional non -probabilistic. The results indicate that knowledge about BCG is sa tisfactory 76.7%, that is, mothers are knowledgeable about the subject and can contribute to the prevention of tuberculosis and thus to the reduction of morbidity and mortality due to this disease, 18.3% have a regular knowledge and only 5% have a deficien t knowledge, so it is believed that more information and education on the subject is required.
