Within the institutional foster care system, adolescents who reach a certain age can enter a process of autonomy that prepares them in aspects of self-esteem and insertion into the labor context, fundamental scenarios to guarantee their independence and quality of life at the time of their separation from the shelter where they remain due to different problems within their family nucleus. This work was carried out within the line of research Patterns of Social Behavior with the objective of knowing how effective and efficient is this program of preparation for an autonomous life applied specifically in the Salesian Project Foundation "Granja Don Bosco" from the perspective of the young people who are experiencing this scenario and what is their opinion of both the process of autonomy and institutional foster care. Thus, the exploratory research was carried out through a qualitative-quantitative approach and the synthetic and inductive analytical methods, and for the data analysis, semi structured interviews and the validated quantitative instrument "Autonomometer-T" were applied to 20 young people in the process of autonomy institutionalized in the studied entity. To reinforce the research, a proposal aimed at promoting social responsibility on the part of the business sector towards these adolescents was established in order to facilitate the management and processes carried out by the technical team in terms of labor insertion and to ensure the financial independence of this vulnerable group.
