These changes lead to memory loss, changes in thinking and other brain functions. The disease progresses slowly and little by little, with cell death, resulting in brain damage. Regarding the management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, Social Work interventions are necessary in relation to guidance to caregivers on how to deal with these symptoms that elderly patients with Alzheimer's have, elaborating with them specific strategies for each behavior change Elderly people with dementia often have dependency and disability, and therefore need help on a day-to-day basis. The people who usually care for the elderly living in the home are family members, recognized as family caregivers.
