    El periodismo y al identidad institucional del estudiantado de básica superior de la Unidad Educativa Indoamérica

    The media plays an important role in the society development, as the same as education, it is a mainstay for people’s growth. Through this recent research, it pretends to determine the influence of journalism on the institutional identity from students of Eighth, Ninth and Tenth year of Elementary education at Unidad Educativa Indoamérica in Ambato city, Tungurahua province. For this purpose, the research was based on a population of 92 students of the years mentioned who are between 11 and 16 years old, which the half are men and the other half are women, that guarantee a better perception of the research about the genre. This report describes the situation that students live in the UEI as the information received about the events and facts that happen inside or outside the class and how they feel about the school that they belong to as a part of the internal public. The field research determined that the school is disorganized as far as regards the institutional communication since only a journalism commission exists that is formed by some teachers who are not experts in the communication area and it only has the role of publishing press releases about the events that happened in the UEI. However, the information transmitted is not directed to students since they do not use the appropriate resources nor the media to reach this audience. Therefore, the purpose is to create and spread the communicational products through the social web page Facebook as a communicational strategy to promote the institutional values among the students from Elementary Education at Unidad Educativa Indoamérica.
