At the end of 2019, the discovery of a new coronavirus with the capacity to infect humanswas reported. This coronavirus causes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome 2 (SARSCoV- 2). Being the seventh virus of this family that has entered the human being, concern arises about the capacities that these viruses have to adapt to new hosts. This is how the spike proteins of hCoVs were analyzed, with a main emphasis on those with pathogenic and virulent capacities, without neglecting hCoVs. The spike protein is responsible for receptor recognition, as well as being part of the genome that mutates the most in all CoVs. For this reason, the conserved sites of those hCoVs were analyzed. In the present work, the conserved sites of the receptor binding domains (RBD) were analyzed. A phylogenetic analysis was carried out to determine the proximity with other CoVs of animal origin and hypothesize the CoVs with zoonotic capacity.
