(Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud / Centro de posgrados, 2022-05-01) Ordóñez Gutierrez, Nancy Judith Lcda.; Raza Suárez Lic. Mag., María Cristina
Objective: To establish the level of development of children from 2 to 5 years of age assessed with the Nelson Ortiz Abbreviated Development Scale in order to identify the criteria for the elaboration of a play activities guide. Methodology: the research was quantitative, descriptive and prospective. The child population of the study belonged to the Catamayo Type "C" Health Center, the work was carried out with children from 2 to 5 years of age, the results of this research show that the mean age of the children is 41.72 months with a SD of 10.183. There are more males than females, with a sex ratio of 1.9/1 M/F or 190/100. Results: The study revealed that the sum of medium (34.4%) and medium-high (3.1%) global development is 37.5% normal development and 62.5% of the children present alertness in global development. These data suggest the implementation of early intervention programs with play activities for development.
