The objective of the study was to evaluate the anthropometric nutritional assessment and the self-perception of body image of adolescents in the Pillaro canton, using a methodology with a non-experimental design, a correlational cross-section in which we worked with a sample of 245 participants (57.1% women and 42.9% women). .% males) ranging in age from 10 to 20 years of age who completed online surveys of the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ), the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) and the Body Mass Index (IMC), obtaining results from the completed surveys, where it is indicated that 38.8% of adolescents do not feel concern about body image, 61.2% did not show risk in the variable related to eating disorders, it was also found that in the population of Pillaro there is no degree of disparity between the perception of the body self-image versus the reality of the individual, however it was observed that women predominate These distortions differ significantly from men, therefore, factors such as age, sex and social environment are highly related to self-perception, triggering eating disorders, psychological and physical disorders; Based on what was previously mentioned, the resolution is reached that body image has a very close relationship with the eating disorders that adolescents currently suffer, depending on the place where the adolescent population is located, affirming the hypothesis raised at the beginning.
