This present research focuses on proposing an appropriate layout for the new facilities of the metal-mechanical company SOLUTIONS, starting with a detailed analysis of its current situation by identifying the processes and products it offers, as well as evaluating production capacity and identifying productive areas to focus the research on the object of study related to the manufacturing of conveyor belts. Typology of plant layout was analyzed, considering the sequence of the process and operational efficiency in each department. The determination of required spaces is carried out by considering legal regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of workers in the company. Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) methodology was applied to evaluate layout alternatives. In this, two scenarios are compared, weighing variables such as the proximity of related processes and the reduction of unnecessary movements. Choice of the optimal alternative is supported by the analysis of load-distance, in which criteria such as travel distance and material handling cost, which directly influence the productivity of the company, are studied. This selected alternative was studied as optimal through a detailed cost analysis covering the implementation of the winning proposal using financial indicators (NPV, IRR, ROI, and TRI) that facilitate determining the economic viability of the project and the time needed to recover the investment made. This allows the owner to make a future decision based on the favorable outcomes of these indicators.
