“Estilo de vida y su influencia en la aparición del síndrome metabólico en estudiantes de la carrera de Enfermería”.
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-10-01) Palate Criollo, Erika Viviana; Villa Plaza, Carmen Mercedes Lic. Mg.
The prevalence of metabolic syndrome worldwide is alarming because the syndrome has acquired an endemic character especially in the university population where lifestyles are unhealthy. That is why the present investigation was developed with the objective of identifying the lifestyle and its influence on the appearance of the metabolic syndrome in students of the nursing career of the Technical University of Ambato. For which a longitudinal and explanatory prospective methodology was used where the facts were described as presented. The study included 50 nursing students, who were selected by simple random sampling. As data collection techniques, a survey on the lifestyles of nursing students was used, as well as the review of laboratory tests to check for the presence of metabolic syndromes. With the research it was concluded that the majority of students' lifestyles are inadequate because they can not always take care of their nutrition, oral health, physical activity, adequate rest, taking care of themselves in mobilization and the sense of life, factors highly predisposing to the appearance of diseases or alterations in health, such as metabolic syndromes.
