    Determinación de Sangre Oculta en Heces y su Relación con Afecciones Gastrointestinales en Individuos Asintomáticos del Personal Militar en Servicio Activo de la Escuela de Formación de Soldados del Ejército (Esforse)

    The incidence of gastrointestinal conditions may be the first and only manifestation of adult patients. At present, of all the visceral malignancies that affect the human being, colorectal cancer is the most frequent cause of death. In the present investigation, the objective was to determine fecal occult blood and to relate to gastrointestinal conditions in asymptomatic individuals of military personnel in active service of the School of Training of Army Soldiers (ESFORSE). Where a method was used for the Occult Blood Test in Stool, 215 soldiers were included, taking into account the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In addition, complementary tests such as the determination of H. pilory and colonoscopy were performed to correlate the results. Results: 100% representing 215 military personnel, 69% of the personnel obtained the negative result for Occult Blood in Stool, while 10% was positive for occult blood and 21% with traces or traces for Occult Blood in Stool. These results were correlated with complementary exams such as a coproparasitological examination and an immunological examination for determination of H. pylori in serum. To the personnel with positive result and with traces of Occult Blood in Stool that corresponded to 66 military, giving a result of H. pylori in positive serum 40 people corresponding to 64% of the total of 66 people that correspond to 100%. Conclusions: SOH was determined and the most frequent colonoscopic findings were: polyps, adenomas and internal hemorrhoids.
