    In this study we analyze a case of a 42-year-old female patient born and living in the city of Ambato, who worked as a merchant, and is now performing domestic work, with incomplete secondary education; With no significant personal pathological history, who suffered a traffic accident on February 22, 2015, diagnosed with severe polytrauma, who was operated in the first instance in the Hospital of the Puyo with the placement of external tutors and later referred to the Provincial Teaching Hospital Ambato on February 23, 2015. Subsequently, she was transferred to the ICU floor from February 23 to March 12, 2015, developed muscle atrophy as a consequence of her long pathological process, analyzed the patient's clinical picture, risk factors and Critical points and finally a physiotherapeutic treatment based on scientific treatment guidelines is proposed
