(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-09-01) Recalde Erazo, Melany Thifany; Córdova Velasco, Luís Ernesto Dr. Esp.
Many of the debates are oriented towards knowing the functional capacity of lower members of athletes and that this in turn can predict the suffering of injuries in them and the return to sports. Thus, the present research work was carried out with the purpose of establishing a relationship between the functional capacity of lower limbs and the appearance of injuries in athletes of the Technical University of Ambato. This population was taken due to the existence of a variety of sports such as: crossfit, basketball, soccer, climbing, cycling, calisthenics, among others. This is an observational study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, as well as being transversal, explanatory, descriptive, bibliographic and field, in which 55 athletes from different disciplines that met the inclusion criteria were included. Once the population to be investigated was determined, useful tools were used for the development of this study, such as the Lower Extremity Advanced Sports Assessment (VDAEI) test by Christie Powell, which has been a battery of tests for lower limbs that includes squats. , jumps, careers and balance, a data collection sheet was also used, detailing personal background and informed consent. At the end of the investigation, some important conclusions were established.
