Carrera de Tecnologías de la Información, 2024-08) Reyes Martinez, Adrián Bolivar; Aldás Flores, Clay FernandoThe present study focuses on the development of a mobile application aimed at improving the teaching and learning of programming in pre-adolescents aged 9 to 14 in the city of Ambato. The main objective of this research is to provide students with an interactive and accessible tool that fosters interest and understanding of fundamental programming concepts. The project was based on a literature review related to teaching programming to pre-adolescents and the use of mobile applications as an educational resource. Additionally, field research was conducted, including surveys and interviews with teachers and students, to identify the specific needs of the target population. The developed mobile application is based on a teaching methodology that involves problem-solving and gamification. It provides a series of interactive activities and challenges that allow students to acquire programming skills progressively and motivationally. Furthermore, complementary didactic resources, such as tutorials and examples, are included to support the learning process. The development of a mobile application for teaching programming to pre-adolescents aged 9 to 14 in the city of Ambato has shown promising results. This tool provides an interactive and accessible way to learn programming, fostering interest and understanding of fundamental concepts. It is recommended to continue researching and improving the mobile application to maximize its impact on pre-adolescent education in Ambato and other similar contexts.
