To carry out the study it was necessary to use different research methods and techniques, in the initial stage information was collected on the evaluation of response spectra to the fault systems chosen with the spectrum proposed by the Nec-15, in the collection stage of data and obtaining results, descriptive research was used, after the experimentation stage, tests were carried out to determine the type of soil through the Standard Penetration Test (SPT), the NEC recommends performing 5 holes for the study of soils, so which were used GMPE's: Akkar and Bommer, Boore and Atkinson, Kanno, Youngs and Zhao. The results obtained were that according to the model of Akkar and Bommer is the most critical, since with this model was obtained the maximum acceleration for each of the faults, also in a certain interval of the period it exceeds the spectrum of the NEC-15 for the Ambato faults. The spectrum that generated the greatest response was that of the Ambato fault, because this fault has the smallest distance perpendicular to the 1.05 km study área.
