    Modelo de cuidado humano y su aplicación a pacientes con covid-19: Ecuador 2020

    Introduction: Jean Watson's model of human care is based on three fundamental pillars: mind, body and soul, and considers nursing as a science and art of health care for the individual, family and community. Objective: To analyze the model of human care and its application in patients with Covid-19 by nursing staff who worked in the units of the Integral Public Health and complementary network during the period March to July 2020. Methods: The study is qualitative, descriptive, retrospective, based on the methodology of Demanziere and Dubar. Results: Among the results it is determined that the precepts applied during the provision of care are framed humanistic and altruistic values, installation of faith and hope, cultivate sensitivity to oneself and others, human care of help and trust, promote teaching and transpersonal learning, create a supportive environment, mental, physical, sociocultural and spiritual connection. Conclusions: It is concluded that if the Jean Watson model could be applied in patients with Covid-19 since nursing care is based on harmony between mind, body and soul favoring the patient-nurse relationship being an important commitment such as providing care respecting human dignity.
