    Estimación del efecto del cambio climático y la pérdida de agrobiodiversidad en la parroquia de Cunchibamba, cantón Ambato

    The agriculture sector is highly dependent on the climate, the increase in temperature and variations in the precipitation regime cause alterations in the productivity of this sector. Human activity, including agriculture, is largely responsible for global climate change; however, the agricultural sector also faces environmental impacts such as soil degradation, lack of water, loss of agrobiodiversity, among others. It is essential to understand that food and the means to produce it come from the existing biodiversity in agricultural ecosystems, so using sustainable production methods could be an alternative to minimize the effects of climate change on the agricultural sector. The purpose of this research is to estimate the effect of climate change and the loss of agrobiodiversity in the parish of Cunchibamba in the canton of Ambato, for which a bibliographic and documented research was used, with a quantitative approach through the collection of information by means of the application of previously elaborated surveys that cover topics about agrobiodiversity, climate change and food security, which were carried out to farmers in the area. The population chosen for the research consisted of 210 farmers in the area. Based on the results obtained from the survey, it can be said that climate change significantly affects the agrobiodiversity of the Cunchibamba parish located in the Ambato canton, thus fulfilling the hypothesis H1, registering the loss of some varieties of crops, plants, amphibians, and birds. According to the data obtained, it was possible to identify a high degree of ignorance of the subject among the inhabitants of the population, which is why training focused on environmental education is of great importance for the sector.

    Estudio de impacto ambiental para la nueva planta industrial de la empresa Master Fibra

    La presente investigación establece el estudio ex ante para la evaluación de impactos ambientales tomando como caso particular la apertura de la nueva empresa industrial de Master Fibra, ubicada en la parroquia Unamuncho en el barrio Puerto Arturo. Esta empresa se dedica a la elaboración de autopartes en plástico reforzado con fibra de vidrio las cuales son utilizadas para el ensamble de carrocerías, ya que este proceso productivo genera cierta cantidad de desechos peligrosos que pueden contaminar el estado físico de la zona y afectar la salud de la población, la empresa considera necesario realizar los estudios ambientales conjuntamente con los planes de manejo para llevar a cabo el proyecto de forma que los impactos producidos se reduzcan a un nivel aceptable. La investigación comenzó con la identificación de la línea base la cual permitió establecer un contexto del ambiente determinando el área de influencia directa e indirecta que rodea la empresa. Con la identificación del proceso productivo se establece los peligros y riesgos potenciales del ambiente, para lo cual es necesario cuantificar la magnitud de los mismos, aplicando la metodología de la matriz de Leopold para aspectos ambientales además de la matriz NTP 330 para la clasificación e identificación del nivel de riesgo presentes en la empresa. Como medida para mitigar los impactos encontrados mediante la metodología aplicada se realiza un plan de manejo ambiental en el cual se considera las siguientes etapas: construcción, operación, cierre y abandono. Las propuestas permiten además de disminuir los impactos en las diferentes etapas, asegurar el cumplimiento de la normativa ambiental vigente y se muestra un cronograma con el costo para cada medida propuesta en los programas con la finalidad de estimar un valor aproximado para la implementación del plan de manejo ambiental dentro de la nueva empresa industrial de Master Fibra. ABSTRACT The present investigation establishes the ex ante study for the assessment of enviromental impacts taking as a particular case the opening of the new industrial company of Master Fibra, located in the Unamuncho parish in the Puerto Arturo neighborhood. This Company is dedicated to the elaboration of auto parts in fiberglass reinforced plastic which are used for the assembly of bodies, because this producción process generates a certain amount of hazardous waste that can contaminate the physical condition of the área and affect the healt of te population, the Company considers it necessary to carry out enviromental studies toguether with the management plans to carry out the Project so that the impacts produced are reduced to an aceptable level. This research began with the identification of baseline which allowe establishing a context of the environment by determining the área of direct and indirect influence surrounding the Company. The identification of the production process establishes the potencial hazards and risks of the enviroment, for wich is necessary to quantiy their magnitude, applying Leopoldo’s matrix methodology for enviromental aaspectos in addition to the NTP 330 matrix for ck´lasification and identificación of the level of risk present in the Company. As a measure to mitigate the impacts found through the applied methodology an environmental management plan es carried out in wich the following stages are considered: construction, operation, closure and abandonment. The proposals allow in addition to reducing the impacts at different stages, ensur compliance with current enviromental regulations and a timetable with the cost for each measure proposed in the programs is shown in order to estimate an approcimate value for the implementation of the enviromental management plan within new industrial Company of master fibra.
