Item “Funcionamiento familiar y su relación con la autoestima de adolescentes”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2018-04-01) Yánez Trávez, Liseth Estefanía; Díaz Martín MSc.Lic., YanetThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between family functioning and adolescents' self-esteem at the Cotopaxi Technical University located in the city of Latacunga, Cotopaxi province, with a sample of 74 students of both sexes, ages 17 and over. 19 years, the same ones that were evaluated through the Family Function Perception Test FF-SIL and the Cooperesmith Self-Esteem Scale. After the application of the chi-square test, the results showed that both family functioning and self-esteem are related, with the dysfunctional family having the highest number of students with low self-esteem. Therefore, it is important to implement psychoeducation workshops and development of inadequate self-esteem in order to promote the mental health of adolescents
