Item Representación y el arte en el cuerpo: El tatuaje como significación social(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación, 2025-02-24) Lasluisa Mise, Jonathan Alexander; Vayas Ruiz, Eliza CarolinaThe ways in which an individual expresses his or her identity are varied and different, so much so that the way of expressing that individuality and representation is considered an art form on the body. The objective of this study is to analyze the expression of the tattoo from a social and cultural perspective, focusing on the interpretation of the body and the social meaning, understanding how these transmit unique concepts and how they connect with contemporary society; having in mind that tattoos are a form of artistic expression and body identity, taking into account that the tattoo has evolved, where the problems contribute to a variety of personal art, which still face social challenges. Where its methodology applies through a qualitative approach, taking into account its ethnography, where its study population lies in people ranging from 18 to 60 years of age, based on an intentional sample, where the interview technique is applied. The results and discussion show that tattoos have an important personal meaning for individuals, since they represent essential moments of existence, identities, convictions, experiences, and connect the journey with individual feelings, reflecting a unique personal history. It is concluded that tattoos are a creative, expressive, artistic and cultural expression that allows manifesting personality and linking with communities, social actions or cultures. The interpretation of the tattoo has changed, since it manifests the transformations in principles and social activities, essentially representing in a constant society.
