The objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of a program of physical activity performed by the professionals of the Patate Health Center, towards the elderly adults of the Diabetic Club. To verify their benefit, an observation chart was used.Tinetti modified, with two parameters of evaluation of balance and gait, in the same way was also obtained the body mas index of each older adult. A statistical analysis of the data was performed to dermine if there is a significant difference between the valvues of balance-gait and body mass index before ande after the physical activity program. The research has 35 participants, being older adults from 65 years and older who regularly attend the Diabetic Club Patate Health Center Type B. In the initial assessment of balance and gait using the Tinetti scale modified, we obtained that 23% of older adults are at high risk of falls.Similarly, in the initial assessment of the body mass index, it was observed that 40% of participants ere overweight, and the only 34% of them.Item Lokomat en la Re-Educación de la marcha en personas Hemipléjicas Post accidente Cerebro Vascular(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Carrera Terapia Física, 2016-04-01) Muñoz Pinto, Andrés Santiago; Salazar Tupiza, Lisseth Marisol Lcda. The present work had as question; determine whether benefits using Lokomat in the re-education of hemiplegic people progress post cerebrovascular accident. People suffering from such accidents have a disability, which is going to be altered both the functionality of their body as well as changes in their quality of life. The Lokomat system meets certain requirements that will enable better functional locomotion, as this is based on the concept of neuroplasticity, which suggests that the activities of the daily living may be trained and improved in neurological patients by continuous repetitions. Because of the high prevalence and incidence with which cases of stroke occur, the importance of finding and analyzing the various alternative therapies. Therefore the results obtained when performing robotic Lokomat therapy, in addition to all planning of physical therapy that lead these people during the rehabilitation process occurs in the development of this research.
