Item Proceso tradicional de trabajo con carrizo en el sector El Niagara y su aplicación en el diseño interior(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Diseño y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2020-10-27) Chicaiza Chicaiza, Marcel Adrian; López Ulloa, Ana AngelicaThis research explores the traditional processes of working with reed of the sector El Niagara, a craftsmanship that addresses the knowledge of artisans when making objects with natural fibers. The wisdom that has been inherited by its parents and grandparents, thus creating a cultural heritage that today is not remunerated with the size that it should have for being a laborious and artisanal work, so it could lose its posterity in future generations, perhaps its cultural identity is lost. The inquiry in the sector is presented with the colloquium of families engaged in craftsmanship, as well as cherishing the traditional, social and family experiences that have been shared for this research, thus understanding the craftsmanship in a more open and frank way by the conversation of the artisans. The research medium considers bibliographic analyses, interviews with the craftsmen of the medium, interviews with professional designers who have contributed in the artisanal conservation and analysis of design projects related to the preservation of ancestral knowledge. Considering everything investigated is presented a graphic example of application in the interior design where the craftsmanship is exposed thus preserving the traditional work with reed. The alternative where the designer and the craftsman form links with the application of new solutions so that the craftsmanship is recovered without changing its essence.
