Item Evaluación comparativa de los parámetros reproductivos entre el método de auto inseminación cervical gedis y el tradicional en cerdas multíparas(2016) Andrade Peñaloza, Edisson Miguel; Montero Recalde, Mayra AndreaResearch identified as" Comparative evaluation of reproductive parameters between the method of self-insemination cervical GEDIS and traditional in multiparous sows" this was done in 12 sows (hybrid females between the second and fourth delivery, from the cross between Yorkshire x Pietrain male and Landrace female ). This research was conducted in the Proinba piggery, located in the Andignato parish of Cevallos of the Tungurahua´s province - Ecuador from January to July this year. 12 sows with post weaning estrus were inseminated, of which 6 were the GEDIS and 6 traditional method, using the inseminations protocol 12h – 24h – 36h. Fresh semen was used, prepared with diluent length + bi distilled water at a concentration of 3 x 107 sperm / ml in total volume 100 ml per straw, come from a pig PIC terminal 2 years old. At the time of insemination the amount of seminal backflow was determined by Student t statistical analysis existed significant difference, which means that the seminal backflow with GEDIS method was lower compared with the traditional. We evaluated the time spent on each method at the time of insemination, reporting a duration of 15 minutes in the GEDIS method and 15 minutes in the traditional, which means that the same amount of time is spent in the two methods time. At 21 days post insemination pregnancy by ultrasound and assessment of non-return of heat, results reported in the two methods 100% effectiveness was diagnosed, which means that the two methods are equally effective in reaching pregnancy in the bristles. At parturition the number of total piglets and according to the Student T statistical analysis was evaluated born there was no significant difference, which means that the two methods produce the same amount of piglets. the weight of piglets at birth and according to the Student t statistical analysis was also determined there was a significant difference, which means that possibly the piglets GEDIS method provides greater weight relative to the traditional method. Finally, in relation to cost - benefit, the traditional method of insemination is more profitable compared to GEDIS insemination method, taking into account that the two methods of insemination get the same benefits.
