Facultad de Diseño y Arquitectura. Carrera de Diseño Textil e Indumentaria., 2022-03-16) Rojano Quishpe, Gabriela Alexandra; Guamán Llamuca, Carlos AlbertoThe present project consists of designing a collection of women's clothing by applying the linear patternmaking system that performs linear and geometric traces, to reduce the amount of pre-consumer textile waste from 1% to 10%, being a sustainable strategy for companies in the city of Ambato. The research approach is qualitative, and tools such as interviews are applied to certain companies in the city of Ambato, and Victor Papanek's Integrated Generalizing Design methodology based on functionality and environmental care is also used. On the other hand, background research is conducted based on linear pattern making, sustainable fashion and service design, as well as on environmental pollution by the textile and apparel sector; and on pre-consumer textile waste and how linear pattern making contributes to it. Also, the external and internal factors and the necessary technologies are analyzed in relation to the provision of services in the design area. The design of a casual women's collection is developed according to the aforementioned methodology, proposing the design service to the Giving brand of the city of Ambato, therefore, the development of the proposal manages to reduce the amount of textile waste from 1% to 10%, and from this, functional, environmentally friendly and authentic garments are also obtained, as a result of the linear pattern making, which is a feasible and innovative proposal for companies.
