Item Asociación del nivel de estrés con el desarrollo del síndrome metabólico en el personal de salud(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-27) Ashqui Lascano, Ingrid Michelle; Velasco Acurio, Evelin FernandaIntroduction: at present there are various risk factors which compromise the health of the person, leading to the development of innumerable pathologies such as hypertensive diseases, diabetes, obesity, and atherosclerosis, one of the main factors that affect this is stress. Aim: this research aims to identify the association of the level of stress with the development of metabolic syndrome in the health personnel of the General Hospital IESS of Ambato. Method: the methodology used for data analysis of the study was based on a descriptive design with a quantitative approach of a prospective, correlational, and cross-sectional type. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) was applied to the selected study subjects, which determined the stressors that affect the normal development of functions in the participating hospitals. This instrument consists of 14 items or questionnaires that measure the degree to which life situations are considered stressful. Conclusions: if there is a correlation between the development of metabolic syndrome and the level of stress in the study subjects.
