Item “Apoyo familiar y rendimiento académico de estudiantes embarazadas de la facultad ciencias de la salud, de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato”.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-04-01) De la Cruz Llambo, Paulina Elizabeth; Blanco, Manuel Ramón Dr.Early pregnancy is a public and social health problem, as the health of the adolescent mother is affected, resulting in negative effects that diminish the chances of completing her studies and obtaining better living conditions. The objective of the research was to determine the family support and its incidence in the academic performance of pregnant students or in the process of recent maternity, of the faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato. For the development of the project, a quantitative approach and a correlational design were used, which included 33 students who were subjected to the technique of the survey on aspects of family support, which were related to academic performance. The data were processed with the statistical program SPSS to identify the degree of correlation between the variables studied. In the study it was reported that 72.7% of pregnant students receive an average family support, which is considered sufficient for transportation, health and nutrition. Likewise, 78.8% consider it sufficient for education and 75.8% for clothing. This support is provided by the parents in 60.6%, by the couple in 36.4% and by their own in 3%. A positive correlation was found between family support and academic performance. It is concluded that the level of family support has a positive effect on the academic performance of pregnant students or mothers of the Faculty of Health Sciences Health Sciences
