Currently, students are exposed to a stressful lifestyle, where study routines, inappropriate eating, self-medication, alcohol consumption, smoking, can predispose to the appearance of gastrointestinal diseases. Objective: To identify the risk factors that develop gastritis in Nursing students at the Technical University of Ambato. Methodology: The research is quantitative, descriptive and has a cross-sectional study design. The population consisted of 244 students and 150 were taken as a sample. A questionnaire already elaborated in a previous investigation was used as a measurement instrument, consisting of 6 categories. Results: 75% of the participants were women; Their ages ranged from 20 to 26 years, the predominant gender was female, 38.6% had gastritis, 78% did not have a fixed eating schedule, 58.1% self-medicate, 38.6 almost always consumed alcoholic beverages. , 58.3% feel stressed most of the time and 34.8% with anxiety. Conclusions: The type of food and feeding schedules are significantly related to gastritis. Within the psychological factors, stress and anxiety are closely linked to causing this pathology. Social factors are not directly related to the development of gastritis
