Mg.The increase in the life expectancy of the human being has given rise to an increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases with disabling effects in the elderly, affecting their level of well-being and quality of life. For this reason, the research was developed with the objective of identifying the factors that intervene in the physical and social well-being of the elderly person in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Home for the elderly Ambato Canton. For the development of the project, a quantitative, descriptive, observational, non-experimental approach was used involving 77 older adults, 16 male and 61 female. They are institutionalized in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Home for the elderly, who were given the Barthel and Tinetti Scales to assess physical well-being and the Gijón Scale for social welfare. With which it was concluded that 41.5% of older adults have a moderate level of dependence, 54.5% have a high risk of falling: 68.8% compared to March and 88.3% at equilibrium. that 57.1% there is social risk. It is necessary to design a nursing intervention plan based on both physical and social alterations in order to achieve a greater degree of well-being in the older adults investigated.Item “Preferencia del tratamiento convencional frente al tratamiento con plantas medicinales en adultos mayores de la parroquia Presidente Urbina del cantón Píllaro”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-04-01) Toapanta Quishpe, Sandra Guadalupe; Velasco Acurio, Evelin Fernanda Lcda. Mg.The present research project is faced in the “Preference of the conventional treatment opposite to the treatment with medicinal plants in major adults of the Parish President Urbina the Canton Píllaro”. The biggest adults are recognized like persons of the old age who are in the last life stage and although nowadays it is frequent to find major adults with a lot of energy and good quality of life exists a health phase with many illnesses and complaints that can be treated by means of the conventional treatment that there are for chronic illnesses like the osteoporosis, arthrosis and others and by means of the treatment with plants it is possible to relieve acute diseases as a headache, stomach etc. The objective. It is to analyze the preferences of the conventional treatment opposite to the treatment with medicinal plants that there have the biggest adults of the Parish President Urbina the down town Píllaro. The methodology that was used is of quantitative character because numerical values were contributed by means of a survey also it is of qualitative character because it was contributed by the knowledge and the review of articles, books, and scientific magazines determined at descriptive level of investigation and correlational for the link of the variables. The results demonstrated that the biggest adults prefer the treatment with plants for acute diseases and the conventional treatment for chronic illnesses. Conclusion. It was fulfilled by the target to analyze and to verify that they prefer type of treatment and the biggest adults use to improve the health.
