Item Educación virtual y retos a los que se enfrentan los/as internos rotativos/as(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-11) Calvache Arias, Pamela Abigail; Fernandez Nieto, Miriam IvonneIntroduction: Due to the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic, higher education institutions had to implement alternatives to continue with the teaching-learning process. Nursing students at the Technical University of Ambato had to adapt to new challenges in their training. Objective: To identify the challenges faced by the Nursing Rotational Interns as a consequence of virtual education. Methodology: Cross-sectional qualitative approach, with phenomenological design, applying a semi structured interview. Results: 80% of the Nursing Rotational Interns interviewed mentioned facing fear when approaching the patient and that the virtual modality did not allow them to develop the necessary skills and abilities to carry out a professional practice. Final consideration: The lack of practice within the hospital environment and clinical simulation laboratories affects professional training and is reflected in the fear of performing the necessary procedures in direct patient care.Item Conocimientos del cuidador informal en el manejo del paciente oncológico en fase paliativa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Verdesoto Tenorio, Shirley Maria; Quenorán Almeida, Verónica Sófia Lic. Mg.Introduction: Informal caregivers are the fundamental pillar of patients in palliative phase since they adopt the role of helping with the basic needs of the person they care for, reducing physical and emotional suffering, helping to maintain quality of life. There are studies that indicate that if extra support is given to their families, they could improve the quality of life of people with cancer in palliative phase by reducing various symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, fatigue and lack of appetite. Objective: To analyze the knowledge of the informal caregiver in the management of cancer patients in the palliative phase. Materials and Methods: the study was qualitative and descriptive, whose population was made up of 6 informal caregivers who, through the application of a semi-structured interview of 10 questions, commented on their experiences. In the organization and data processing, the Microsoft Excel program was used. To demonstrate the main findings, the analysis tables and checklists were optimized. Results and Discussion: the majority of informal caregivers are women who do not have sufficient knowledge to face this type of situation, so they have to go through experiences of suffering since most cancers are detected stage III and IV Conclusion: The experience of Home caregiver means a difficult scenario for which they are not trained, therefore it is necessary to improve their strengths by substantially improving their knowledge.Item Intervención cognitiva a las mujeres que asisten al grupo de apoyo de la lactancia materna(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-04-01) Tamayo Martínez, Paola Lisbeth; Fernández Soto, Gerardo FernandoDr , PhD.Introduction: Breastfeeding affords benefits for mother-child health and nutrition that is why an opportune educational intervention of promotion, support and advisory during the prenatal, immediate period and postpartum period guarantees the length and exceptionality of breastfeeding. Objective: To evaluate the impact of educational intervention of women who attend the ¨maternal breastfeeding support group¨. Method: Quantitative, prospective, descriptive research with a quasi-experimental design (before and after) in a sample made up of 10 pregnant women and 20 women in the breastfeeding period. The measurement was carried out through the questionnaire; IIFAS scale of attitudes towards child nutrition of lowa. Results: According to the correlation coefficient analysis, the student´s t - test and the results obtained using the post- test, statistical significance was found with a probability of less than 0.05. Meanwhile, in the attitude items, the pre- intervention showed a mean and standard deviation of 2.07-1.16, respectively, compared to the post- intervention, which obtained 4.48-0.65. Conclusions: Age and low level of educational are issues that the contribute to early weaning breastfeeding; however, after the educational intervention carried out, a better and positive attitudes to improved and encouraged breastfeeding in the mothers was reached.Item “Nivel de conocimientos sobre factores de riesgo que causan las infecciones de trasmision sexual en los adolescentes de 15 a 19 años de la unidad educativa los andes del canton Pillaro en el periodo septiembre 2019-julio 2020”(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2020-03-01) Mena Barrionuevo, Eveling Victoria; Rea Hinojosa, Tania Alexandra Lcda. MgSexually transmitted infections are part of a strong public health problem especially in the adolescence stage because young people begin their sexual life early and with behaviors that put their sexual and reproductive health at risk. As a general objective we have to determine the level of knowledge of risk factors that cause sexually transmitted infections in adolescents aged 15 to 19 years of the Los Andes Educational Unit of the Pillaro Canton in the period September 2019-July 2020. The methodology used in This project was quantitative with a mixed descriptive method. The sample consisted of 119 students of the Educational Unit "Los Andes" where a questionnaire was used as survey instruments. Of the 100% of the students surveyed, 61% have a low level of knowledge about STIs, as well as their risk factors, forms of infection and prevention methods; with information obtained through teachers, parents and friends.
