Item Experiencia familiar en el cuidado de un paciente con carcinoma gástrico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-12) Caiza Chango, Pamela Mireya; Quenorán Almeida, Verónica SofiaThe family experience in the care of a patient with gastric carcinoma is of great importance because it explores the experience of caregivers, which makes it possible to understand the integrality of the process of this disease, from a different perspective than that known by the staff. of health. Objectives: To categorize the lived experience of caregivers of patients with gastric carcinoma. Methodology: This research is of a qualitative phenomenological type, with a field and cross-sectional design. 7 relatives participated. For the data collection technique, the semi-structured interview divided by categories was used, with an approximate duration of 15 minutes during 3 continuous sessions, a prior informed consent signature was requested. Results: It manifests itself through 5 important categories: a sad event, facing a new path, coping with cancer, dealing with cancer symptoms, organizing to care, transformations of my life to overcome emotional burden and spiritual management. It was shown that female caregivers have little knowledge about activities related to feeding, cleaning, medication administration and pain management. Conclusion: A life of total dedication is manifested despite the lack of knowledge about the disease towards their relatives, informal caregivers together with the health area are responsible for ensuring the well-being and comfort in the patient, allowing trust between caregivers. informal, nurse and patient accepting their reality, which is why a care plan is proposed for the orientation of the caregiver.Item Conocimientos del cuidador informal en el manejo del paciente oncológico en fase paliativa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Verdesoto Tenorio, Shirley Maria; Quenorán Almeida, Verónica Sófia Lic. Mg.Introduction: Informal caregivers are the fundamental pillar of patients in palliative phase since they adopt the role of helping with the basic needs of the person they care for, reducing physical and emotional suffering, helping to maintain quality of life. There are studies that indicate that if extra support is given to their families, they could improve the quality of life of people with cancer in palliative phase by reducing various symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, fatigue and lack of appetite. Objective: To analyze the knowledge of the informal caregiver in the management of cancer patients in the palliative phase. Materials and Methods: the study was qualitative and descriptive, whose population was made up of 6 informal caregivers who, through the application of a semi-structured interview of 10 questions, commented on their experiences. In the organization and data processing, the Microsoft Excel program was used. To demonstrate the main findings, the analysis tables and checklists were optimized. Results and Discussion: the majority of informal caregivers are women who do not have sufficient knowledge to face this type of situation, so they have to go through experiences of suffering since most cancers are detected stage III and IV Conclusion: The experience of Home caregiver means a difficult scenario for which they are not trained, therefore it is necessary to improve their strengths by substantially improving their knowledge.Item Relato de experiencia de cuidador de adolescente con VIH(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-03-01) Cando Chango, Ximena Alexandra; Guarate Coronado, Yeisy Cristina Dra. Mg.Introduction: The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is characterized by replicating in a wide variety of cells. A caregiver is a person who dedicates their time and effort to helping another person perform the basic activities of life, being a fundamental pillar for their recovery or to cope with an illness. Objective: To describe the experiences of a caregiver of an adolescent with HIV. Materials and methods: Qualitative, exploratory phenomenological research. The method used was Bertaux's biographical method in the life stories mode. The information was collected through interviews that were recorded and transcribed for analysis. The participant was a caregiver of an adolescent with HIV who was asked for his authorization and the signing of the informed consent. Results: The situation of the family of an HIV patient is of great emotional impact conditioned by fears, myths and ignorance that lead to the rejection of the person suffering from it. The caregiver is an important part in understanding and managing the disease. Conclusion: The caregiver and family support are fundamental pillars in the care of a person suffering from a disease such as HIV.Item Vivencias del cuidador informal del paciente con covid-19 en la instancia domiciliaria en la parroquia de Quisapincha cantón Ambato(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-09-01) Freire Coronado, Jennifer Katherine; Guarate Coronado, Yeisy Cristina Dra.SARS-CoV-2 is an RNA virus that is part of the coronaviridae family that is related to wild animals such as bats and intermediary reservoirs such as the pangolin, snakes and minks. This irus produces the illness better known as COVID-19. The analysis of the informal caregiver’s experiences handling a patient positive for COVID-19 and its work overload, also the methods used to face the issue. A thorough qualitative, description investigation was conducted, with a proper field design. The research focus were the family members of COVID-19 patients from the parish of Quisapincha, whom were also the informal caregivers. The research data was obtained via semi-structured interviews done to ten participants; the pertinent criteria related to the quality and data adequacy, also the overflow of unnecessary information. The analysis was performed following the rules of the fundamental theory of data. The ethical principles of autonomy were protected, respect and confidentiality of the information given. In this study, the overload of the COVID-19 patients’ caregivers was low, this was because their focus was not on the negative. Their focus was in the love they have for their family member and using different strategies to face the virus so the patient’s quality of life is not affected. Through the informant’s stories, it was conclusive that these caregivers did not suffer from work overload during the COVID-19 patient’s care; they also demonstrated their feelings love and family unity.
