Item Percepción de los estudiantes de enfermería de las prácticas formativas durante la pandemia COVID-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Padilla Batallas, Nicole Stephanie; Verónica del Pilar, Cantuñi CarpioThe training practices in hospital areas for nursing students are reinforced as the main support to acquire experience, since direct contact with patients allows applying all the knowledge learned theoretically, and in the same way promotes the development of skills. that will guide them to provide holistic care with a dignified treatment to each patient. Objective: Evaluate the Perception of nursing students of training practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Qualitative, phenomenological, descriptive and retrospective, where a semi-structured interview was applied to 10 nursing students. Results: The study findings revealed that nursing students faced a range of challenges when returning to a hospital environment and completing their rotational internship without having undergone their clinical training due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was established that one hundred percent of the respondents maintained a concerned attitude upon entering the hospital due to the lack of direct interaction with patients and healthcare professionals. Furthermore, they experienced a significant emotional impact that affected their development and performance within the rotational internship. Conclusions: The disagreements of the participants can be observed regarding the level of knowledge apprehended during the training process, since, although the theory was abundant, it could not be applied in practical spaces, which is reflected in the perception of the students. participants when they were in an intrahospital environment and did not know the procedures, techniques and activities of the nursing care process in each of the rotation areas, especially when treating patients during the pandemic, with minimally invasive procedures that were not studied previously.Item Prevalencia del deterioro del patrón del sueño Post-Covid 19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Cruz Romero, Joselyn Patricia; Chasillacta Amores, Fabiola BeatrizIntroduction. At the end of 2019, a pandemic brought remarkable variations in the corporal and cerebral health of individuals. The states of lockdown cause people and especially youngers vary their methods of connecting with people and studying. Stating that youth bring with emotional, cultural, and social variations, it is significant to recognize how this pandemic could further increase these states. Objective: Get to know the prevalence of post-COVID 19 sleep pattern deterioration in nursing students of Technical University of Ambato cohort October 2022 – March 2023. Methodology: Data was collected from a statistically sample of 275 students through an online questionnaire. Sociodemographic information was gathered and two instruments were used for validation: the insomnia severity index and the Epworth sleepiness scale. Results: It is shown that 83.64%of the individuals showed at least one mild sleep disturbance. 76.4% of the evaluated individuals presented some insomnia problems and 57.1% have sleepiness problems during the day. A statistically linked correlation was defined among the results of the two questionnaires and women have a slight tendency to experience sleepiness compared to men. Conclusion: The results and the information suggest that sleep disorders are generated by a poor framework of students ‘schedule. Despite this, lockdown may be a severe factor for the condition that could generate other disorders.Item Efectos adversos post vacunación contra el Covid-19 en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-27) Aucanshala Shigla, Erika Vanessa; Llerena Cruz, Carmen AliciaIntroduction: immunization against Covid-19 can attract short or long-term effects, these can be mild (headache, pain at the puncture site), moderate (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, fever (>38°), pruritus, lymph node inflamation) or serious (facial paralysis, facial swelling, anaphylaxis, changes in heart rhythm, coagulation disorders, arterial hypertension, transverse myelitis, Guillan Barre syndrome), in the following study will be revealed the effects produced after the application of the vaccine against COVID-19 in adolescents. Objective: to identify the adverse effects after the application of the third dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 in high school students of the Joaquín Lalama Educational Unit. Method: cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, of a crosssectional non-experimental design with a descriptive correlational scope. The study population are adolescents from 14 to 19 years old, high school students of the Joaquín Lalama Educational Unit. For data collection, the questionnaire called COVID-19 Side effects and vaccination was used. For the processing and analysis of the information, the IBPM SPSS statistical platform will be used, as well as tables for its correct interpretation. Results: after the analysis of the surveys applied to adolescents, it was found that there were no serious adverse effects in a large part of the population, but there were mild adverse effects, data similar to other studies carried out by other authors.Item Estilos de vida en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipos 2 en tiempos de pandemia Covid- 19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-13) Lara Lascano, Katherine Melissa; Herrera Calderón, ,Verónica PaulinaThe present study called "Lifestyles in patients with Type II DM in times of Covid pandemic" aimed to analyze the lifestyles in patients with type II diabetes mellitus during the COVID 19 pandemic. The methodology was established within the quantitative approach, non-experimental cross-sectional study to identify the degree of affectation that the diabetic patient's lifestyle had during the pandemic. A survey was applied as a data collection instrument Profile of Lifestyle (PEPS-I), where the results showed that the majority of the participants frequently maintained a healthy nutrition with a percentage degree of 50.96%, 57 , 96%, stated that sometimes they undergo exercises, in the same way 47.77%, mentioned that they are frequently responsible for their health, in the same way, 44.59%, indicated that sometimes they lead to the management of stress, while 43.31% indicated that they frequently maintain interpersonal support and finally 52.23% stated that they are frequently updated with information on the chronic pathology they suffer from. Therefore, it was concluded that the lifestyle of diabetic patients is unfavorable through the variables measured in the study. However, we have evidenced in different studies analyzed throughout the investigation that health personnel carry out various promotion and prevention campaigns at the first level of public care, there forethe different factors that condition the lifestyle of health professionals should be investigated. chronic patients in order to improve health policies and provide more personalized attention to diabetic patients.Item Trastornos de ansiedad en adultos mayores durante la pandemia Covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-13) Poaquiza Aman, Lizeth Esthefania; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia IsabelThe COVID-19 pandemic has affected different populations, of which the most vulnerable is the one made up by older adults, since in this population the risk factors are more than the protector ones against a disease that has a varied symptomatology, all these things has generated in the elderly a feeling of haplessness and insecurity, which can become symptoms of an anxiety disorder. Objective: to analyze the level of anxiety in older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: regarding demographic variables, it was found that most of the population studied were men between 60 to 79 years old; the elderly in Santa Rosa parish have a moderate level of anxiety; 15 of the 21 symptoms evaluated were presented with equal intensity in men and women. Conclusions: the most frequent symptoms were strong and accelerated heartbeats, weakening of the legs, fear of the worst happening, a feeling of dizziness, insecurity and trembling body, all these symptoms are found in the test used (Beck´s Anxiety Inventory or BAI); the most frequent level of anxiety as moderate anxiety.Item Aplicación de la fitoterapia en el tratamiento de Covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-09) Tubón Lagua, Mary Estefanía; Herrera López, José LuisIntroduction: Phytotherapy is known as the practice in which medicinal plants are used for the cure or prevention of diseases; being traditional medicine used from ancient times to the present due to its multiple benefits and low incidence of risks in people's health. In the COVID-19 pandemic, phytotherapy was one of the practices most mentioned and used by the population to cope with the disease; taking it as a preventive measure in the face of the high rate of contagion, forming part of the treatment to prevent progress and chronic involvement derived from the virus; It was even used to strengthen the immune system and avoid contagion. Objective: To know the application of phytotherapy in the treatment of COVID-19. Methods: The study was carried out with the inhabitants of the Augusto N. Martínez parish, Ambato Canton, Tungurahua Province (Ecuador). The research approach was qualitative, descriptive, transversal. As a technique, the semi-structured interview was used to collect the data of interest. Results: As a result, it was found that the most used medicinal plants were chamomile, ginger, and eucalyptus for the prevention and cure of COVID-19, using the root and leaves more frequently, through preparations such as infusions and vaporizations. Conclusions: Phytotherapy is a practice chosen in the treatment as well as in the prevention of COVID-19 because the community perceives plants as beneficial for health.Item Salud mental en los estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería durante la pandemia Covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) Tibán Chimborazo, Julisa Anabel; Fernández Soto, Gerardo FernandoSince the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new modality was initiated in universities, as classes were taught virtually. This caused negative effects on the mental health of nursing students, which continued when they returned to the face-to-face mode of academic formation. The objective of this research is to determine the mental health status of nursing students. The methodology implemented was a quantitative, descriptive approach, cross-sectional and nonexperimental. The target population through a simple random probabilistic sampling was 101 students in the seventh semester of the Nursing Career of the Technical University of Ambato. The results show that the mental health of the students has been affected, revealing high levels of stress (64.3% of moderate, severe and extremely severe stress), depression (55.5%) and anxiety (24.8%), and there is a relationship between stress and the student's sex. Subsequently, it is evident that 27.7% are at risk of suicide. Likewise, the factors that caused stress to the students were studied, which highlighted communication with other professionals (39.6%), fear when taking theoretical tests (50.5%), the distance between the faculty and the home (38.6%) and the fear of making mistakes during patient care (54.4%). There was evidence of a problem in the mental health of the students, which generates psychological difficulties, problems in their professional training, and through this to be able to take actions to improve their healthItem Usos del dióxido de cloro como prevención y tratamiento del Covid-19 desde la percepción del usuario(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) Córdova Lascano, Alexandra Cristina; Ortiz Suarez, Hortensia SenaidaIntroduction: Chlorine dioxide was used as prevention and treatment of COVID -19, in times of pandemic; however, there is still no evidence-based medicine to support its benefit. Objective: Analyze the use of chlorine dioxide as a prevention and treatment of COVID-19 from the perception of users, the reasons for its administration and its positive and negative effects. Method: The research will be carried out in the city of Ambato, in a period of time from April-September 2022, a qualitative-descriptive methodology was used because an analysis of the study problem will be carried out through interviews with the different opinions that were will be obtained from the participants for a deep and experiential approach on the subject in 15 adults belonging to the Huachi Loreto parish of the Ambato canton, in Ecuador, the interviewees are between 30 - 45 years old and because an analysis of the study problem will be carried out through through interviews with the different opinions that will be obtained from the participants and because it details the characteristics of a population or phenomenon that is being studied, having a temporal or geographical and transversal delimitation since it is based on the follow -up of the same subjects or events to over a certain period of time. Results: The results show that chlorine dioxide was used both for the treatment and prevention of COVID -19, which motivated its use was the ignorance of the disease and its high mortality at the beginning of the pandemic, in addition to the influence of people close to the study population and finally the effect of chlorine dioxide was only positive. Conclusions: All the people used chlorine dioxide either as a treatment or prevention for COVID -19, due to multiple causes that motivated them, they had favorable effects; however, the WHO - PAHO - MSP of Ecuador prohibits its use since it lacks evidence-based medicine that justifies its effectivenesItem Percepción de madres con Covid-19 sobre lactancia en niños menores a 1 año(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-07) Chaglla Muyulema, Luis Adrian; Analuisa Jimenéz, Eulalia IsabelIntroduction: Breastfeeding is very essential in the development of the neonate, this should be exclusive within the first six months of life, with the arrival of the pandemic by COVID-19, it was affected in mothers who felt fear of infecting their children desisted from continuing breastfeeding for fear of transmitting the virus through the milk when feeding the newborns, some mothers had to adapt to the recommendations provided by doctors to continue feeding, taking into account biosecurity. Objective: To identify the perception of mothers with COVID-19 about breastfeeding on infants under 1 year old of age. Method: The research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, with a purposeful sample, the information was collected through semi-structured interviews with mothers with this type of phenomenology. Results: It was evidenced that most of the mothers carried out the corresponding isolation and continued breastfeeding with biosecurity measures according to medical directions; likewise, other mothers chose to stop breastfeeding for fear of infecting their babies. Conclusions: BF should be maintained even though mothers are diagnosed with COVID-19 with the support of health staff to provide information on how to breastfeed taking into account all biosafety measures and to prevent mothers from stopping breastfeeding because of fear of infecting their babies.Item Estrés laboral en personal de enfermería durante la pandemia por Covid-19(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-07) Balladares Torres, Patricia Estefania; Moyano Calero, WillianThe objective of this research was to analyze occupational stress in the nursing staff of the emergency area of the General Hospital of the IESS Ambato, Ecuador, during the COVID- 19 pandemic. For this purpose, the sociodemographic data of the study population and their respective levels of physical, social and psychological stress were identified. For this purpose, quantitative research with a descriptive and cross-sectional scope was developed, for which a group of 48 people, 34 nursing graduates and 14 nursing assistants, were applied the questionnaire consisting of 34 items "Nursing Stress Scale for Nurses" (NSS) (The Nursing Stress Scale) that qualifies each stressor. The results were obtained through statistical analysis in SPSS software - version 28, where the sociodemographic information of the respondents was presented in tables, as well as the stress levels in each area and globally; showing that in the group investigated there is a predominance of female professionals (91.70%) with ages between 31-40 years (47.90%) and married marital status (62.50%), who fulfill the role of nursing graduates (70.80%), with a time in service of 11 - 15 years (33.30%); The degree of work stress sin the personnel is mostly Moderate (68.80%);while individually, the physical stressor shows a predominance of Moderate degree (52.10%), and in the psychological and social stressor, the levels correspond to Low (87.50%) and (56.30%) respectively.
