Item SITUACIONES DE RIESGO QUE ATRAVIESAN LOS ENFERMEROS QUIRÚRGICOS: UNA REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA(2025-06-17) Paredes Pila, Karol Lisbeth; Chipantiza Cordova, Tannia Elizabeth; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de EnfermeríaIntroduction: Surgical nurses are subject to numerous risk situations that compromise their physical and mental health and are related to the demanding nature of their work. Operating room conditions expose personnel to several hazards, including biological, ergonomic, chemical, physical, and psychosocial risks, which can negatively affect their well-being and performance. Objective: To analyze the risk situations encountered by surgical nurses through a literature review, identifying the primary threats to their healthand the preventive measures that should be adopted. Methodology: A descriptive literature review was carried out using the PRISMA method for article classification. Information was retrieved from databases such as Scielo, Virtual Health Library, WHO, Google Scholar, and PubMed, using keywords related to occupational risks in the surgical environment. A total of 25 articles were selected from 45 reviewed, focusing on publications from the past four years in Spanish and English. Results: The reviewed studiesindicate hat surgical nurses are highly exposed to biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial risks, which significantly impact their health. Conclusions: It is suggested that occupational health policies and biosafety strategies be strengthened to protect surgical nurses from the many threats they face in their work environment.Item IMPACTO DEL ESTRÉS LABORAL EN LOS PROFESIONALES DE ENFERMERÍA QUE OTORGAN CUIDADOS HOSPITALARIOS(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2024-05-28) Navas Fonseca, Lizeth Estefanía; Jiménez Hurtado, William AndrésIntroduction: One of the factors such as excessive work hours in nursing professionals is a risk to professional health with a probable impact on the quality and productivity of the service provided. Objective: Determine the impact of work stress on nursing professionals hired part-time at the Technical University of Ambato. Methodology: A descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional study was carried out. A survey was applied with the Spanish version of the Nursing Stress Scale (NSS) during the month of July 2023. All nursing staff who work part-time at the Technical University of Ambato as hospital practice teachers were included. (n=50). Data such as age and hospital work service were considered. Full-time nursing staff were excluded. To determine the frequency and percentage of work stress. Results: The nursing professionals surveyed predominated in services such as Operating Room 18% (n=9), Emergency 12% (n=6), Neonatology 12% (n=6) and Hospitalization Surgery 10% (n=5), with an average age of 38.6 years (Min 24 – Max 59). The determination of work stress according to the stressors evaluated predominated the score characterized as “sometimes” with 54% (n=27), followed by the score “never” with 26% (n=13), score “frequently” with the 16% (n=8) and finally the score “very frequently” with 4% (n=2). Conclusion: Stress over disagreement with a patient's treatment was related and causes a greater impact on the work stress of nursing professionals.Item “Síndrome de Burnout en el personal docente de la facultad ciencias de la salud de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2020-03-01) Gutiérrez Cruz, Génesis Jhanina; Naranjo Ocaña, Evelyn Jomaira; Tenecota Quingaluisa, Gabi Jacqueline; Guarate Coronado, Yeisy Cristina Dra.Introduction: The number of people suffering from Burnout Syndrome (SB) due to work-related stress has been increasing and has become one of the main causes of poor performance, absenteeism and disabilities.Objective: To identify SB in the teaching staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato (UTA).Method: Quantitative, descriptive, field and cross-sectional research. The Population under study were all teachers of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato, being the census sample. For the collection of the information, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire was applied, consisting of 22 items in the form of affirmations that allowed measuring the professional wear of the teaching staff. Finally, the ethical aspects indicated in the Declaration of Helsinki were taken care of, as well as the ethical principles of respect, autonomy and non-maleficiency.Results: The population studied does not show a high incidence of SB, however, they point to an incipient presence of the same since there were scores in the middle sectors that are currently not relevant, but could well indicate that we are facing a sample of non-exempt teachers of problems and tensions.Conclusions: The teachers of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the UTA are at risk of suffering from SB, since they presented significant variations in the aspects of emotional exhaustion and personal fulfillment; being the most affected teachers of early Stimulation careers, Medicine and Clinical Laboratory.
