Item APLICACIÓN DE LA LISTA DE VERIFICACIÓN DE CIRUGÍA SEGURA POR EL PERSONAL DE ENFERMERÍA. REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA(2025-06-17) Oña Martínez, Katty Elizabeth; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia Elizabeth; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de EnfermeríaIntroduction: Patient safety in the operating room is a constant challenge for surgical nurses due to the high-risk nature of surgical interventions. Poor communication between medical teams and insufficient training can increase the likelihood of adverse events. Methodology: Databases such as Scielo, Virtual Health Library, WHO, Google Scholar and PubMed were used to collect information. The PRISMA method was applied for the classification and selection of studies, reviewing a total of 45 articles, of which 25 were considered relevant for the analysis. Results: The findings indicate that adverse events in surgical settings affect between 3% and 16% of patients. Although the implementation of the Safe Surgery Checklist has proven to be effective in reducing these events, its application faces several challenges, such as lack of training and cultural resistance in some surgical settings. Conclusions: It is clear that while tools and protocols exist to improve surgical safety, their effectiveness depends largely on the ongoing training and commitment of the entire medical team. The review suggests that many adverse events are preventable. It highlights the need to reinforce training and awareness of the importance of safe practices, ensuring the active involvement of all healthcare professionals in surgical safety.Item Calidad y seguridad del paciente en el uso de electrolitos concentrados(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-13) Santo De la Cruz, Luis Joel; Cantuñi Carpio, Verónica del PilarIntroduction: Concentrated electrolytes are high risk drugs for the patient that can cause death due to failure at the time of administration, therefore nursing staff is trained to provide safe and quality care. Objective: To determine the level of clinical knowledge in the management of concentrated electrolytes in the General Hospital Latacunga. Methods: The research was quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional. A survey entitled "Nursing clinical knowledge in the management of concentrated electrolytes" was applied to the sample population, which consisted of 91 nursing professionals working at the General Hospital Latacunga. Results: From the results obtained based on the "General knowledge of concentrated electrolytes", it was obtained that 62.6% have a high level of knowledge, in the "Knowledge of the process of use of concentrated electrolytes", it was obtained that 65.24% have a high level of knowledge, as for the "Knowledge of the safety of the administration of concentrated electrolytes", 61.94% have a high level of knowledge. Finally, in the "Knowledge of the conservation of concentrated electrolytes", 64.4% possess a medium level of knowledge. Conclusions: The level of knowledge of the nursing staff on the management of electrolytes is medium, since the quality and safety of the patient is affirmed at the time of administration of these high-risk drugs, however, the staff requires expanding their knowledge on the conservation of concentrated electrolytes.Item Aplicación de la técnica SBAR-SAER por parte del profesional de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-11) Chacha Benítez, María Elizabeth; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia IsabelThe present study analyzed the application of the SBAR-SAER technique by nursing professionals.
