    The lessons left by the earthquakes and technology in the area of earthquake resistant engineering, placed demonstrate the seismic vulnerability of many buildings, even if they have been designed in compliance with current standards, it can be concluded that relatively little is known in depth of successful design and earthquake-resistant construction, this is ratified several collapsed buildings. For this reason this research has as main objective to study the Resistance Earthquake Concrete and Steel buildings by the earthquake resistant design and analysis of structural behavior in the non linear range of two buildings in Steel Structure and one in Concrete Structure. The problem, which is linked to the reality of Ecuador, arises, the applicability of the Ecuadorian Standard Construction to high seismic hazard zones. The information underlying the subject based on previous research and has served as a reference for this and other similar work, in addition to the legal basis and definitions to clarify the concepts used in the proposed research is included. References to the procedures to be followed to initiate research, such as focus, the basic mode, the level and type of research is used. The investigation concepts of some previous studies and the results of analyzes in addition to behavioral comparisons earthquake resistant buildings Steel and Concrete made are presented include described. The conclusions of the results of the investigation are set out.

    The present study Executive summary has as its theme the realization of the "analysis and design of overpass, applied to the exchanger San Miguel de Calderón located in the Via Calderon-Guayllabamba, province of Pichinchar". The study, technical analysis and design was based on research conducted in the field in different areas such as: topography, geotechnical, drainage, etc., necessary for the expansion of the Panamericana Norte Highway, strech: Calderonguayllabamba in the North of the capital, in the province of Pichincha. The results of the structural design of the overpass of the exchanger, are used for the preparation of the plans of the planned structures and the conflict of traffic in the sector, whose area of indirect influence is made up of the Calderón parish which, according to the 2010 census, has a population of 152.242 inhabitants.

    Normativa de diseño por viento para prevenir daños en porticos, galpones industriales, soportes de tuberias y estructuras tridimensionales en celosia para el Ecuador

    En la presente investigación se desarrolla una normativa de diseño por viento para pórticos, galpones industriales, soportes de tubería, y estructuras tridimensionales en celosía, para solucionar los vacios y deficiencias que existe en el diseño estructural, de esta manera prevenir daños en las estructuras que atenta contra la integridad material y humana. La normativa de diseño por viento tendrá un análisis minucioso de los parámetros que influyen en el cálculo de las presiones por viento, tal como la velocidad de diseño de viento, forma, importancia, categoría, topografía de terreno, factores de afectación y otros, ésta permitirá diseñar las futuras edificaciones con la debida estimación de dichas presiones que permitan dar seguridad y funcionalidad a las estructuras.
