Item EFECTO DEL EJERCICIO DE CALENTAMIENTO EN LA PREVENCIÓN DE LESIONES MUSCULARES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-08-27) Ullsco Tubón, Alexander Rodolfo; Arias Córdova, Paúl AdriánMuscle injuries directly disrupt the muscle fiber, causing pain and physical disability, and are a common problem in both amateur and professional athletes, mostly occurring in the lower limbs. This study highlights the effectiveness of warm-up exercises or programs such as "FIFA 11+" that combine stretching, strength and balance exercises to reduce injuries in young athletes. For the research, a systematic review was conducted in March and April 2024, consulting academic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Scielo, WoS, Elsevier and Google Scholar. Keywords such as "warm-up exercises" and "muscle injury prevention" were used. Inclusion and exclusion criteria ensured the relevance and quality of the selected studies. As results the regular implementation of these warm-up programs can significantly reduce the incidence of lower extremity muscle injuries. Evidence shows that these exercises prepare athletes physically and contribute to increased physical performance, such as speed, agility and balance, which helps to reduce the occurrence of injuries. Overall, this article highlights the importance of incorporating appropriate warm-up exercises into sports warm-up routines to prevent lower limb muscle injuries.Item FACTORES DE FRAGILIDAD EN EL ADULTO MAYOR Y SU RELACIÓN CON LA FUNCIONALIDAD DE LA MANO(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-08-27) Ramos Paredes, Christian Marcelo; Arias Córdova, Paúl AdriánThe objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the fragility of the elderly and the functionality of the hand. Fragility factors currently cause multip l e diseases associated with factors such as: poor diet, high consumption of alcohol and narcotics, smoking, malnutrition and in adulthood such as: advanced age, female sex, low levels of exercise, psychosocial problems, low levels of vitamins and polypharm acy. Multiple fragility factors can directly affect the functionality of the hand, preventing the older adult from carrying out activities of daily living. The present project is non-experim ental with a quantitative approach where the Frail Scale test will be used to detect frailty, which evaluates different parameters in numerical ranges from 0 to 5, the Jebsen-Taylor function test evaluates the amount of time invested in performing a specific activity and Camry Dynamometry to measur e dynamic strength in 31 older adults. This research will be cross-sectional analyti c a l because a single data collection was carried out on each participant to demonstrate the relationship between fragility factors and hand functionality. Within the relationship of fragility with the functionality of the hand, they reveale d that they have a direct relationship, due to different fragility factors such as sex, age, weight, height, BMI, polypharmacy, lack of exercise and vitamin deficiency, in addition Values are observed in grip strength that indicate a mostly weak populat i on , clearly affecting basic functions such as grip and free mobility, which are fundamen t a l in the exhaustive search for functional independence in older adults. Early detection of fragility is recommended in order to avoid its impact on the functionality of the hand in order to preserve the lucidity of the fundamen t a l movements in a good life.Item Método Pilates en el fortalecimiento del CORE en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-03-18) Sailema Moyolema, Jimmy Alexander; Arias Córdova, Paúl AdriánThe general objective was to determine the effect of the Pilates method on Core strengthening in university students. It is a quantitative, analytical, longitudinal and observational research that evaluated the effects of the Pilates method in the improvement of the Core musculature, through the application of the program. A total of 57 students were analyzed and an exercise protocol was applied for 4 weeks, 3 times per week, with a total of 12 interventions. The results showed that there is a significance of p<0.005 between a pre and post evaluation, this indicates that the application of Pilates exercises in a period of four weeks was efficient to strengthen the Core musculature in university students. In conclusion, Pilates exercises significantly improve the state of strength, endurance and flexibility, which is associated with a decrease in low back pain, making the Pilates method a recommended activity for students.Item VALORES REFERENCIALES DEL Y-BALANCE TEST (YBT) EN NIÑOS DE 7 A 11 AÑOS DE EDAD(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-08-27) Pérez Muso, Anderson Fabricio; Arias Córdova, Paúl AdriánThe Y-Balance test (YBT) was used as a functional test to measure the dynami c balance and stability of the children of the Guaytacama Parish. This instrume n t requires participants to perform movements with a single foot while maintai ni n g balance with the contralateral foot, the reaches are performed in different directio ns : anterior posteromedial and posterolateral, resulting in values aimed at the maximu m reach distance (in centimeters). The objective set by this research project is: Determ i n e the reference values of the YBT in boys and girls from 7 to 11 years old. The results of its applicability demonstrated that there are several factors that influence the data obtained from the YBT, such as: sex, age and/or the level of physical activity of the participant. Regarding the reliability through the test-retest for the different YBT directions reached, it is >0.75 to <0.92, ranging from “good” to “excelle n t” . Furthermore, it was found and assured that the YBT has good reliability, revealing that the results are consistent and are related to the studies that support the research. Finally, it is concluded and reference values of the YBT are determined in the child populati o n from 7 to 11 years of age for both males and females and compliance with the general work objective is achieved.
