Item Incidencia y factores asociados al catastrofismo en pacientes con dolor lumbar crónico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Psicología Fisioterapia, 2023-10-03) Caiza Chusin, Julio Cesar; Espín Pastor, Victoria EstefaníaThe present research was carried out with the objective of determining which associated factors are related to catastrophizing in patients with chronic low back pain. Chronic low back pain is a sensation of muscular discomfort, which can affect the psychosocial state with an extension of the pain to more body regions. Assessments were applied to a population of 61 patients with chronic low back pain between 18 and 60 years of age of both sexes. A catastrophizing questionnaire (PCS), pain drawing (PD) and a digital data collection sheet and associated factors were used. A single evaluation was carried out, which lasted 15 minutes. The present project has a quantitative approach, since the PCS questionnaire, pain drawing and associated factors sheet were applied, obtaining numerical and categorical values that were related with Pearson and Spearman statistical tests. It is a cross - sectional analytical study, seeking to characterize low back pain and correlational by relating the factors associated with catastrophizing. Obtaining as a result between the relationship of catastrophism and associated factors, age (p= 0.002), BMI (p= 0.035), smoking (p= 0.01), surgical intervention (p= 0.008), use of orthopedics (p= 0004), working hours (p= 0.001) and pain interference ( p= 0.009), are correlated with suffering chronic low back pain. In conclusion, high scores of catastrophism are correlated with the associated factors, determining which variables should be taken into account for the evaluation of the patient with chronic low back pain, in order to improve their rehabilitation
