Item Comportamiento social y desempeño académico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Psicopedagogía, 2025-01-17) Cayo Muso Cristina Yajaira; Rivera Flores Danny Gonzalo; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de PsicopedagogíaThe present research, entitled “social behavior and academic performance”, aimed to analyze the influence of social behavior and academic performance that exists in the 10th year of EGB students of the Juan León Mera “La Salle” Educational Unit, we worked with a population of 150 students of the institution. To achieve this objective, an exhaustive search was carried out in various bibliographic sources in order to provide answers to the questions posed. As for the methodology, a mixed approach was used, which facilitated data collection, the modality of bibliographic and field research was used, with a descriptive, explanatory and correlational scope, which allowed analyzing how social behavior influences the academic performance of the population. For data collection, the A. Goldstein Social Skills Scale and the Comprehensive Evaluation of School Performance Questionnaire were applied in person. A total of 140 students belonging to the 10th year of Basic General Education participated, being a significant sample for the research. The statistical análisis was carried out using Kendall's Tau-b correlational coefficient, in order to corroborate the findings. Therefore, te validityof the same alternative proposed in the study is confirmed, suggesting that social behavior does have an impact students' academic performance.
